This site is Unicode UTF-8 compatible. As some contents are in Unicode Bangla you may face problem with fonts if Unicode script is not installed in your computer. In such case, please read the following easy steps to fix the Bangla contents properly. To fix the problem you have to follow these steps:

  • Install Unicode script for Bangla.
  • Install Bangla Unicode fonts.
  • Setup browser for Bangla Unicode.

How to Install Unicode Script?

Windows XP :

To view Unicode Bangla in XP 

  • Insert the Windows XP SP2 installer CD in CD-ROM.
  • Click Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Select Languages tab and check mark  the "Install files for complex scripts and right-to-left languages" option. Now click apply button and some files will be copied. Restart your computer.
  • If you don’t have the XP installer CD then you can also download the complex script from here . Install it and restart your computer.

Windows Vista:

Bangla script support is automatically enabled. :D

Other Operating Systems:

Linux: Fedora 5, 6, 7, 8 and Ubuntu 7 have Bangla language pack. You just need to install Bangla support while installing Linux or install it from Linux CD/DVD.

How to Install Unicode Fonts?

Download free Bangla unicode fonts from link1, link2, link3. Copy the fonts in "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts" folder in XP.

How to Setup Browser for Unicode?

For Mozilla Firefox:

Go to Tool > Options. Then go to Contents tab. Click on the Advanced under Fonts and Colors option. Select Fonts for 'Bengali', and select BNG as Serif, San serif and Monospace font. Go to your browser's "view" menu and set the "character encoding" or "encoding" feature to: Unicode (UTF-8).

For Internet Explorer :

Go to Tools > Internet Options. Click on the Fonts button. Then select Language Script: 'Bengali', Webpage font: BNG. Click OK. Go to your browser's "view" menu and set the "character encoding" or "encoding" feature to: Unicode (UTF- 8).

How to Write in Unicode Bangla? 

Desktop: avro by omicronlab, shabdik by iecb.
Web based: Phonetic, probhat, bnwebtools (keyboards and converters).
Add-ons and plugins: Shabdik’s firefox add-ons.
